Conversion Kit
All older versions of BIOBOX filters can be upgraded with our compatible conversion kit. This is a system of modular cups for fitting the new B-BOX filter media into BIOBOX filters. This will transform your old filter into a new generation filter. The unique conversion kit is sold separately and includes 10 modular cups so you can create the most suitable filtration for your aquarium with our variety of filter media.
Filtration methods
The B-BOX cartridges combine mechanical, biological, and chemical filtration methods. Mechanical filtration efficiently removes debris and waste particles, keeping your aquarium water crystal clear and free of impurities. Biological filtration harnesses the power of beneficial bacteria to break down harmful substances, ensuring a balanced and healthy aquatic ecosystem. The chemical filtration removes dissolved wastes from water, such as chlorine, ammonia or phosphate. In addition, the coating of the cartridges itself carries out a mechanical filtration in the aquarium water.
B-BOX Pure Water
Helps keep aquarium water crystal-clear and reduces residual colour, odours, chlorine, chloramines and selected metals. NOTE: During fish medication, this filter media must be removed. Recommended replacement: every 4–6 weeks.
B-BOX Cleanwater
Multi-action filtration that helps keep aquarium glass and surfaces cleaner for longer. The combination of filter media helps reduce organic matter, phosphates and nitrogen compounds, including nitrates, nitrites and ammonia. NOTE: During fish medication, this filter media must be removed. Recommended replacement: every 4–6 weeks.
B-BOX Anti Algae
Helps reduce nutrients associated with unwanted algae growth, including phosphates, nitrates and ammonia. NOTE: During fish medication, this filter media must be removed. Recommended replacement: every 6–8 weeks.
B-BOX Bact Life
Provides a suitable surface for colonisation by nitrifying bacteria, supporting the biological conversion of ammonia/ammonium and nitrite into nitrate. Recommended replacement: every 16–20 weeks. NOTE: the BACT LIFE and the filter foams must not be replaced at the same time.
B-BOX Coarse Foam (10 ppi)
Acts as a mechanical pre-filter, capturing larger particles and debris. To maintain effective filtration, rinse it once a month using water removed from the aquarium. Recommended replacement: every 12–20 weeks. NOTE: the BACT LIFE and the filter foams must not be replaced at the same time.

Acts as fine mechanical filtration, capturing smaller particles from the water. To maintain effective filtration, rinse it once a month using water removed from the aquarium. The Biobox filters are provided with an instruction guide that includes important information that should be read and understood.
Before filling the aquarium, place the filter in the right place. Don’t forget to remove the protective films of the filter recharges (EasyBox Activated Carbon and EasyBox Aquaclay). Verify the positioning of the pump and the heater (if included) and place in the filter output the guiding flow piece. Fill the aquarium. Switch on the equipment and confirm the well-functioning of the filter. Place the filter cover.
The purpose of all filter cartridges is to keep the aquarium in excellent condition and as clean as possible. However, misuse and replacement of the refills may impair the proper functioning of the aquarium. To avoid this, you must respect the rules of replacement that vary in a time interval depending on the type of the EasyBox cartridge. On all the filter cartridges boxes you will find the indication of this replacement interval time which varies between 1 week and 8 months. To avoid an imbalance in the water in your aquarium, do not perform the replacement of cartridges with different features at the same time.
To start using the new B-BOX cartridges in your old Mini Biobox or Biobox filter, simply buy the appropriate conversion kit (there are two versions for Mini Biobox and Biobox), insert the B-BOX filter media inside each modular cup in the kit and install the complete kit inside your filter. It’s ready to work.
Yes, filter foams (coarse and fine), as well as the Pure Water and Bact Life are suitable for use in saltwater aquarium filtration, due to their compositions which include activated carbon and clay. For optimal performance, it’s important to adhere strictly to the recommended replacement schedule.
